Earlier on Thursday evening Uganda Law Society tweeted that one of their members Bony Akol of M/s LOI& Co Advocates was kidnapped by armed men in Najeera a Kampala suburb.
The Uganda Law Society president earlier suspected that Akol must be in the hands of the Internal Security Organization (ISO) and argued security to give details of the kidnap.
However, police has confirmed that the missing City Lawyer is in in the hands of their sister security agency though not named.
This comes at the apex of kidnaps and killings in the country which has risked Museveni’s security score card, the recent one being the Kidnap of NGO employee Nagirinya Miriam and her driver Kitayimbwa who went missing and found dead in Mukono and last night a Rwandan National was gunned down with her body guard along Entebbe-Express highway and other three family members killed in Lyantonde.
ISO’s and Police’s policy of kidnapping people they hope are criminals experts say will fuel the kidnappings and killings since one can’t distinguish between genuine security officers and kidnappers.
